Black Rock Elementary School is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 3 school of approximately 270 students that is nestled within the lovely hills of Litchfield County. We actively support students in their learning, academic and social development. We are fortunate to have a knowledgeable, dedicated staff that supports our students in fostering a positive collaboration with a wonderful parent base.
Each year, our school selects goals for our own emphasis on learning. It also allowed us to focus our energies towards a common purpose and establish a cooperative, community working together for student success. Our goals for the 2016-2017 school year are:
The purpose of our goals is to enhance the learning experience for all students at Black Rock School. It also allows us to direct our energies towards a common goal and establish a cooperative, community working together for student success.
Dear Black Rock School Community,
Welcome back for the 2018-2019 school year! We’ve been working hard over the summer with great anticipation for the return of our wonderful students. Our building looks fantastic and our teachers are hard at work preparing great experiences for the children.
We are excited to have several new teachers and staff members joining our outstanding faculty. This past spring, our faculty worked collaboratively to plan new character initiatives that we will implement this fall. We can’t wait to share all the great things we have in store with our students, parents, and the community!
Each week, we communicate with our parent community with important school information and updates on our programs and offerings. I welcome the opportunity to communicate with all community members regarding your questions, concerns, or suggestions on how we can best serve the children of Thomaston.
This is going to be a great year at Black Rock School. Enjoy the autumn season!
