Black Rock Elementary School is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 3 school of approximately 270 students that is nestled within the lovely hills of Litchfield County. We actively support students in their learning, academic and social development. We are fortunate to have a knowledgeable, dedicated staff that supports our students in fostering a positive collaboration with a wonderful parent base.
Each year, our school selects goals for our own emphasis on learning. It also allowed us to focus our energies towards a common purpose and establish a cooperative, community working together for student success. Our goals for the 2019-2020 school year are:
The purpose of our goals is to enhance the learning experience for all students at Black Rock School. It also allows us to direct our energies towards a common goal and establish a cooperative, community working together for student success.
Dear Black Rock School Community,
Happy New Year! We’re having a great school year so far and eagerly look forward to the second half of the year. Staff and students have returned from winter vacation rested, rejuvenated, and ready share their kindness and talents!
We work every day to improve instruction to lead our students in becoming collaborative problem solvers. Our character initiatives are now woven into the fabric of our school as well. We continue many robust traditions, such as family literacy nights, Veterans Day Assembly, and our Holiday Singalong. We would like to thank our parent community and the Thomaston PTA for supporting our programs!
Each week, we communicate with our parent community with important school information and updates on our programs and offerings. I welcome the opportunity to communicate with all community members regarding your questions, concerns, or suggestions on how we can best serve the children of Thomaston.
